The most unsettling thing about the giant squid is that it isn't a myth - it's a very real and very large monster. Scientists have been obsessed with giant squid since the first carcasses were preserved in Newfoundland in the late 1800s. But with eighteen inch eyes, a razor sharp beak and a population in the millions, the giant squid has remained elusive to those that hunt them. Two more giant squid have recently washed ashore.
